Introduction

Skin First Cosmetics S.r.l (hereinafter “Skinfirst”) is committed to making its website accessible and usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. In line with Directive (EU) 2019/882 – the European Accessibility Act – and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, we aim to make our website content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users, including those with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive disabilities. We believe accessibility is an integral part of an inclusive online experience, and we continuously work to improve the navigation, content, and functionality of our website.

We have adopted WCAG 2.1 – Level AA guidelines as our technical reference, implementing solutions that allow everyone to access the content clearly and without barriers.

We know that some sections may not yet be fully accessible: we are working on this carefully, planning small, progressive improvements.

If you have difficulty using the website or need content in an alternative format (for example accessible PDFs, descriptive text, or personalized assistance), or if you have any feedback for us, please write to: accessibility@skinfirstcosmetics.it or contact us using the methods and contact details provided in the website footer.

We will do our best to help you as quickly and effectively as possible.

This accessibility statement (hereinafter the “Statement”) provides all the necessary information.

Scope

The Statement applies to the content published on the Website.

Included:

  • The main website and all subsections of the domain;
  • The e-commerce area (products, cart, checkout);
  • The mobile versions of the website;

Not included:

  • Embedded external third-party services (e.g. payment gateways, social platforms, interactive maps);
  • PDFs and documents that do not comply with or fall outside the scope of the regulation, published before April 2025;

Any external content will be made accessible within the limits of technical and legal feasibility and only where strictly required by the regulation applicable to Skinfirst.

Compliance status

Following the technical assessment carried out, the Website, as of the update date indicated above, while already having implemented numerous technical measures to improve accessibility, still presents some partial issues in certain sections. These issues are known, documented, and measures have been planned to resolve them in the near future, in accordance with what is set out below.

Technologies and testing tools used

To assess the website’s level of accessibility, the following tools were used:

  • Validators/Scanners: Lighthouse Accessibility, axe DevTools, WAVE;
  • Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS);
  • Keyboard testing (Tab/Shift+Tab navigation, focus management, skip links);
  • Contrast analysis (WCAG AA contrast checker);
  • Semantic structure review (landmarks, headings, ARIA roles).

Known limitations

  • Sliders and dynamic content: the carousels currently do not yet have dedicated pause/stop controls, but they are still navigable and being optimized.
  • Tutorial videos: some multimedia content does not yet include subtitles or text transcripts, and these will be added to ensure universal access.
  • Interactive quizzes: illustrative images do not always have a complete text alternative; work is underway to add more accurate descriptions.
  • Messages and notifications: alerts relating to promotions or the cart may not always be announced by assistive technologies, but they remain visible and will be further improved.
  • Similar links and buttons: some areas contain repeated labels; refinement of naming is planned to make navigation clearer.
  • Visual contrast: in some promotional banners, color contrast may not be optimal in every scenario, and it will be made more consistent.

Measures adopted, ongoing changes, and improvement plan

Skinfirst has taken several concrete actions to progressively improve the website’s accessibility, in particular:

  • Information and tables: restructuring of product information tables with headers and captions, to make data clearer and easier to navigate.
  • Navigation and hierarchy: standardization of titles and headings across components, avoiding level jumps that could confuse reading.
  • Adaptability and personalization: support for the system preference Reduced Motion has been introduced to limit animations and transitions where required.
  • Perception and readability: the zoom lock on mobile has been removed so content can be enlarged freely; interactive elements such as rating icons have also been enlarged to improve readability and ease of use.
  • Robustness and compatibility: the semantics of certain components have been corrected to improve use with screen readers and other assistive technologies.

All future actions to improve the accessibility of the Website will be documented on this page, in order to ensure maximum transparency and sharing of the compliance process. Therefore, this Statement may be amended/updated, including to comply with changes in national and/or European Union regulations, or technological developments. Any new versions of the Statement will be published on the Website, which we invite you to check regularly.
