What is it?

Azeloglycine is a water-soluble derivative of azelaic acid, in the form of a glycine salt. It retains the cosmetic properties of azelaic acid, but is less irritating, and its use resolves formulation issues caused by its poor solubility.

It is a natural substance produced by Malassezia furfur (also known as Pityrosporum ovale), a yeast found on the skin as well as in wheat, rye, and barley.

Azeloglicine is a active ingredient indicated for products for oily, seborrheic, impure, dehydrated skin or skin with dark spots. Its main properties are:

You can find azelaic acid in products such as gels, toners, serums, and boosters. It has no particular incompatibilities with other ingredients, so you can use it alongside products formulated with AHAs, BHAs, and retinol, for example. When paired with niacinamide, it delivers an excellent brightening and sebum-regulating action.
