How do the “Pimple Patches” work and how are they used?
Acne, breakouts, and blemishes are increasingly common skin concerns: are you always looking for new products to treat them too? Among the latest products on the market, anti-acne patches are all the rage — local treatment pimple patches.
HYDROCOLLOID: A BIT OF HISTORY
In the 1980s, an innovative technology was developed: hydrocolloid, useful for creating an optimal moist environment for wound healing.
This system used gelling agents such as pectin or gelatin (note, however, that our Anti-Blemish Patches are formulated without gelatin and are suitable for vegans!), to help draw pus and fluids out of the affected area.
This revolutionary approach to wound care began to gain traction in the late 1980s and early 1990s, bringing to light a wide range of products backed by scientific and clinical studies that explored their benefits in greater depth.
SKIN FIRST ANTI-BLEMISH PATCHES: HOW ARE THEY USED?
Today, the medical community accepts and recognizes the benefits of wound healing in a moist environment, agreeing that this method is superior to traditional dry dressings.
WHAT ARE HYDROCOLLOID PATCHES?
Pimple patches and hydrocolloid became popular in Korea and Asia about 10 years ago and have now reached the global market as well.
Patches for blemishes are essentially small "stickers" to apply to pimples to help absorb their contents and encourage healing.
WHAT ARE PATCHES FOR?
When applied to a pimple, the hydrocolloid patch does two things:
- protects the pimple, providing a moist environment that stays clean. The outer layer of the patch helps to keep the area clean by preventing microbes, such as bacteria that cause infections, from entering the blemish.
- 2helps absorb sebum and bacteria from inside the pimple, speeding up its disappearance.
SKIN FIRST ANTI-BLEMISH PATCHES: HOW ARE THEY USED?
Our Anti-Blemish Patches are made of 100% hydrocolloid.
The pack contains 44 patches, 20 of which are flower- and star-shaped (to make your blemishes cooler, hehe) in green and purple, and another 24 clear ones in three sizes.
They are suitable for all skin types that have pimples and blemishes.
How do you use them? Super simple: apply the patch to clean, dry skin with light pressure and leave it on locally for 4 to 8 hours. Then gently peel it off and replace it with a new one, if necessary.
