HYDROCOLLOID: A BIT OF HISTORY

In the 1980s, an innovative hydrocolloid technology was developed to create an optimal moist environment for wound healing.

This system used gelling agents like pectin or gelatin (note, however, that our Anti-Imperfection Patches are formulated without gelatin and are vegan-friendly!) to help extract pus and fluids from the damaged area.

This revolutionary approach to wound care began gaining traction in the late 1980s and early 1990s, spurring a wide range of products backed by scientific and clinical studies that detailed their benefits.

Acne patches and hydrocolloid technology first gained popularity in South Korea and Asia around 10 years ago, and have now reached the global market as well.

Imperfection patches are essentially small "adhesive stickers" applied to blemishes to help absorb their contents and speed up healing.

WHAT ARE PATCHES USED FOR?

When applied to a blemish, the hydrocolloid patch does two things:

  1. protects the blemish, providing a clean, moist environment. The outer layer of the patch helps to keep the area clean while preventing microbes, such as infection-causing bacteria, from entering the imperfection.
  2. 2helps to absorb sebum and bacteria from inside the blemish, accelerating its disappearance.

Our Anti-Imperfection Patches are made from 100% hydrocolloid.

The packaging contains 44 patches: 20 in flower and star shapes (to make your imperfections a little cooler, heh heh) in green and purple shades, plus 24 clear patches in three different sizes.

They are suitable for all Skin types that have breakouts and impurities.

How do you use them? Extremely simple: apply the patch to clean, dry Skin with light pressure, and leave it to work on the targeted area for 4 to 8 hours. Afterwards, gently peel it off and replace it with a new one if needed.
