Description of the Mixed leather

Causes of combination skin

This skin type is not a stable condition but is a dynamic condition, also influenced by other factors, for example the signs of aging, pollution and sun exposure, seasonal change (usually, the skin becomes more oily in summer and drier in winter). There are also other causes. Among these, the genetic factor plays an important role, since skin type is largely determined by our genetic heritage. Another cause may be the stress, which can lead to hormonal imbalances which in turn can increase sebum production. Finally, choose skincare products not suitable for your skin type it can accentuate the condition of combination skin, for example the use of overly rich creams can clog pores and increase sebum production, while the use of products that are too harsh can excessively dry out the skin.

How to care for combination skin

The main mistake is not understanding that your skin is very often uneven e has different needs at different times of the year, which should be treated for what they are to make your skin more even.

Products for combination skin: what shouldn’t be missing?

It is important that the choice of cosmetics is careful for provide the right amount of hydration to dry areas and remove the right amount of sebum from oily areas. Basically, you need to take care of your skin differently depending on the different areas of the face, creating a skincare routine for combination skin that combines hydrating products to reduce dryness and purifying products to reduce sebum production.
The key is balance. Here are some active ingredients we recommend: hyaluronic acid to moisturize, Salicylic acid to exfoliate and niacinamide to provide a purifying and sebum-regulating action.

The Most Common Needs of Combination Skin

Mixed skin is a combination of dry areas and oily areas, which can create a sticky look or, in the worst-case scenario, a bit of acne and blackheads. The key to healthy, beautiful skin is the right hydratation and a good routine of skin care.

  • Blackheads: Blackheads (or open comedones) are a blockage that develops in the opening of hair follicles when sebum, keratin, debris, and bacteria build up. The brown, or black, color is due to the surface oxidation of the open comedone. You find them in areas where the sebaceous glands are more active, generally around the nose and the outer cheeks.
  • Enlarged pores: The enlarged pores are the surface openings of the pilosebaceous follicles (with or without open comedonal blockages) that you can see with the naked eye and that are most commonly found on the face and scalp.
  • Skin dryness: Do you feel your skin pulling tight? Does your skin look dull, lacklustre, or cracked? Do you sometimes feel itchy? If you experience any of these symptoms, your skin, or parts of it, is suffering from dryness.
